Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the organizers have decided to cancel the May 24-26 2020 RNA Granules meeting.  The safety and health of the registrants and attendees are our highest priority. Furthermore, the BC Public Health Act has banned all large gatherings til end of May.

Based on the excitement of the RNA granule community for this meeting, we all look forward to a future meeting on this important topic. Stay safe and healthy and we look forward to seeing you soon in the future. Registration fees will be refunded back to your credit cards.

Thank you for understanding.

RNA Granules 2020 Organizers

****Updates about COVID-19 and RNA Granules 2020****

We are closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation and government responses. As such, we have decided to extend the closing date for the early-bird registration till Friday March 27, to allow time for the situation to evolve and for us to make decisions accordingly.

Given the information at the moment, RNA Granules 2020 is proceeding as planned.

However, we understand that the situation can change quickly. The RNA Granules organizers are meeting/discussing regularly to evaluate new information as it comes available. We are ensuring that decisions are made promptly in the event that the meeting has to be cancelled.

The safety of attendees is our highest priority and we will continue to monitor advice from the BC-Centers for Disease Control. We will provide updates as information is available and will take measures to ensure the health of all attendess at the conference.

With that, we encourage all to register and submit an abstract. We will waive cancellation fees and fully refund registration fees in the event the meeting is cancelled by the RNA Granules organizers.  So please do register and take advantage of the early bird registration discount by March 27.  Otherwise the regular registration deadline is April 10.

Note that at this time, some airlines have changed their cancellation/change fee policies:

American Airlines will waive the change fee for non-refundable fares purchased between March 1 and March 16 (meaning you can reschedule your flight if needed), and JetBlue is suspending change and cancellations fees for all new flight bookings made between February 27 and March 11. Southwest does not charge a cancellation fee. United Airlines is not charging change fees for tickets issued March 3 through March 31, 2020. Delta will waive change fees for all flights booked between March 1-31 to any destination the airline serves.

Air Canada: When you purchase a ticket between March 4 and March 31, 2020, Air Canada will allow you to make a one-time change to your flight without incurring a change fee up to 14 days before travel.  https://www.aircanada.com/ca/en/aco/home/book/travel-news-and-updates/2020/change-fee-waiver.html

Westjet: Flights booked between March 5 and March 31, 2020 will be allowed a one-time change fee waiver, for flights more than 14 days from departure. https://www.westjet.com/en-ca/travel-info/coronavirus

We are happy to announce the RNA granules 2020 meeting in Vancouver, BC Canada.

Following the great successes of the first (Halifax 2014) and second (Heidelberg 2017) International Symposiums on Stress-Associated RNA Granules in Human Disease and Viral Infection, we are pleased to announce that the third meeting, RNA Granules 2020, will take place May 24-26, 2020 in downtown Vancouver at the Fletcher Challenge Canada Theatre of Simon Fraser University Harbour Centre Campus.

This 2.5-day symposium will bring together experts investigating RNA granules that impact different fields and that have been implicated in infectious diseases, neurological disorders and cancer. Oral and poster presentations will discuss the latest advances in cell biology, neurobiology, microbiology and physical chemistry that have revealed exciting insights into the molecular composition of distinct RNA granules, the mechanisms that regulate assembly of RNA granules and the contribution of RNA granules to disease and immunity.

Attendance is limited to one hundred participants to foster scientific and social networking.

Abstract submission due April 17, 2020. One abstract submission per participant. You must REGISTER before you can submit an abstract.
